Energy Efficiency

Energy Efficiency may not be the end, but it is the beginning of environmental stewardship.

Energy Efficiency Tips

If every American home replaced just 5 high-use incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs, each family would save more than $60 every year in energy costs. Together we'd keep more than one trillion pounds of greenhouse gases out of our air - equal to the emissions of 8 million cars. That's a $6 billion energy savings for Americans, equivalent to the annual > output of more than 21 power plants. Source: Energy Star

Recycle Your Used Printer Cartridges Here

Next time you have an empty inkjet printer cartridge, don't throw it away. Just put it in a plastic bag or the original cartridge box and bring it to a Visalia UU Fellowship meeting. We will recycle it, and our Fellowship will receive up to $4 for each cartridge with a print head. (Sorry, Epson printer cartridges without print heads don't qualify.) Save energy! Reduce Pollution!

Facts About Tires

With properly inflated tires...

  • Americans could save 4 million gallons of gas each day.
  • Americans could save hundreds of dollars each year on gas and extend the life of their tires by 25%.
  • Americans could all breathe cleaner air because we'd be burning less gas.
  • Americans would be able to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge forever!

Tire Tips

  • Always use the inflation recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • Use a reliable gauge. This is very important!
