Editors Suggestion: The souls of animals By Gary Kowalski,
From Amazon.com-Why do elephants bury their dead? What makes birds sing and cranes
dance? Do animals appreciate art? Do they know the difference between
right and wrong? Do they experience awe and wonder? In this revised
second edition of his celebrated book, Reverend Gary Kowalski combines
heartwarming stories with solid science to show that other creatures
are not insensitive objects devoid of feeling and intellect but
thinking, sentient beings with an inward, spiritual life.

Online UU Classes
Humanism Today: Issues and Origins
The heritage of humanism is a central strand in Unitarian Universalism. We will explore the history of this idea in classical philosophy, western intellectual development, and American religious development. We will also examine the variety of institutional forms of contemporary humanism, the issues it confronts, and the unique spiritual resources that it offers in the context of our UU movement. Taught by the Rev. Drs. Kendyl Gibbons and Bill Murray, two of the most noted humanist scholars in our UU movement. This class begins June 15 and runs for eight weeks.
You can sign up for these and other classes at our Online Learning Center -- see www.clfuu.org/learn for more information about how classes work and how to sign up. These classes carry a $40 registration fee.

Invite Your Friends to the Fellowship!
We
have a convenient way for you to invite your friends and acquaintances
to our Fellowship. Many people are turned off by "organized religion" but
they have no clue that there is such a wonderful religious alternative

handy "pocket
coupons" to help you share the good news! The "coupon" entitles
your friend to a FREE potluck dinner, "A Message to Celebrate Life," "Lively
Discussion" and Free e-mail Newsletter. A brief summary of the seven principles
and time and place with directions to our Sunday services are
included. You
can download our "Pocket coupon" from our website, and print your own
with text back-to-back, then cut the page to provide yourself
with four handy pocket coupons to carry with you. The
pocket coupon is available on our website, on our "Welcome to Visitors:
page, here: follow
